Our family – along with many families – will be staying home for Thanksgiving this year. While I will miss our large gathering with extended family, I am hoping to make our smaller gathering just as fun, festive and delicious right at home! While I may be busy preparing the turkey and side dishes, I’ve decided to have some healthy options available for my kids to snack on throughout the day. Try one of our Grow Fit inspired snacks below!
Thanksgiving Cornucopia – Defrost a frozen waffle and wrap into a cornucopia or cone shape. Stuff with your favorite diced fruit. We love blueberries, grapes and strawberries!
Harvest Apple Chip Dip with Graham Crackers – Dice apples into very small cubes and mix with cinnamon and a touch of brown sugar. Serve with your favorite whole grain graham crackers!
Thanksgiving Turkey Veggie Tray with Hummus – To save time buy your favorite hummus from the store. Scoop hummus into a small bowl and place on a dinner plate. Using the picture as a guide place veggies around the bowl of hummus. (1/2 c sugar snap peas, 2 cups broccoli florets, 1 red pepper, 1 yellow pepper, 2 cups baby carrots, 1 cucumber.)
